Hi, we were not successful in compiling the graphics library on Sun/Solaris because the makefile does not appear to do anything at all. It claims that "Nothing to be done for `all'." We are not sure why. Maybe it's a problem with make? We are using GNU Make version 3.77, by Richard Stallman and Roland McGrath. Any help appreciated. hi i run into a bug in the implementation if the ST monad: f = fixST $ const $ return 'z' >>= return Main> runST f '\ Program error: Prelude.!!: negative index it looks like there is a bug with the pointers and the wrong type of thing gets written somewhere. here is another example: f = fixST $ const $ return 'z' >>= return . ord Main> runST f ('z',) bye iavor

Running xemacs from Hugs under Windows

Running Hugs98 under Win2k (December 2001 version), I can invoke the xemacs editor with > :! xemacs.lnk +10 c:/prog/hugs/example.hs Then I set Editor setting : -E"xemacs.lnk +%d %s" But if I then type > :e it reports Warning: Editor terminated abnormally Any idea as to what might be wrong or how to fix it? Installation problem

I downloaded the files http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/downloads/hugs98-Dec2001.msi and http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/downloads/GraphicsLib.msi from the page http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/pages/downloading.htm I also installed the latest Windows Installer from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=32831 Unfortunately, the Windows Installer says the *.msi files could not be opened and asked whether they were valid Windows Installer packages. I am running Windows 95. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Daniel Herring nuntius(a)ku.edu
