I downloaded the files http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/downloads/hugs98-Dec2001.msi and http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/downloads/GraphicsLib.msi from the page http://cvs.haskell.org/Hugs/pages/downloading.htm I also installed the latest Windows Installer from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=32831 Unfortunately, the Windows Installer says the *.msi files could not be opened and asked whether they were valid Windows Installer packages. I am running Windows 95. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Daniel Herring nuntius@ku.edu
Hi,
I suspect you're using Netscape, which doesn't correctly handle
.msi file downloads - at least not until we've tweaked the setup
of the web server we're using. Try using IE instead.

Thank you for the prompt response. As you guessed, switching browsers from Netscape to IE fixed the problem. I don't exactly understand what the problem was; but until it is fixed, a note on the website might be a good idea. Something like "Netscape Navigator does not download these files correctly. Please try using Internet Explorer." Thanks again, Daniel Herring nuntius@ku.edu
Thanks, we'll try to fix this ASAP, but until then, I've done
what you suggest & updated the download page with a notice
re: this.
