WinHugs cannot find its prelude

I don't know if this was a bug on the part of my computer or hugs but I thought I would mention it to you guys. I had been using winhugs successfully for about six months when one day it just can't find the prelude anymore. I can't tell you anything more than this: it shows the fatal error message "unable to load prelude" and then closes itself. Thanks Miles ThomasGet more from the Web. Internal error

The program class (Functor p1) => Prod pi1 raises an error INTERNAL ERROR: inheritFundeps - predicate failed to match it's own head! in Hugs Dec 2001. I saw a different program reporting the same error in the February archives, but I thought I would send it in anyway, since mine is smaller. :) P.S. A bug in hugs

Hugs version: Dec 2001. Platform: Windows. Both WinHugs and command line hugs have the same bug. start hugs with -98 option and try the following program: class Monad m => ExMonad where raise :: String-> m a instead of reporting an error, an internal error is raised: INTERNAL ERROR: inheritFundeps - predicate failed to match it's own head! qualified type identifiers

Hello there, the following module does not compile with Hugs Dec 2001 (and Feb 2001): -- start module HugsQ where data T = Q v :: HugsQ.T v = HugsQ.Q -- stop Fails with: ERROR "HugsQ.hs":5 - Undefined type constructor "HugsQ.T" GHC compiles it without error, and the Haskell Report states in Section 5.5.1 (Qualified names): "A qualified name is brought into scope: o By a top level declaration. A top-level declaration brings into scope both the unqualified and the qualified name of the entity being defined. Thus: [...]" Although the example is given in terms of a function binding, I would see the data declaration as just another top-level declaration defining entities "T" and "Q". I could not find anything in the differences to Standard Haskell in the Hugs User's Guide, so I guess it is a bug. Thanks in advance for looking at it. hugs / ghc difference over '(..)' imports

There is a difference between hugs and ghc in how they treat imports with the '(..)' notation. Here's my example: module CTree( --other stuff Const(..) ) where import ATree (Const) --const has constructors CInt, CChar, CStr under hugs this module exports CInt, CChar, CStr but under ghc it does not. Under ghc it only exports the constructors if I import 'Const' like this: import ATree (Const(..)) I don't know which is the right behaviour w.r.t. the H98 standard, but it tripped me up. Duncan

Graphics problems

Hi, This is not a bug report but I didn't have a clue where to seek help. If this is not the correct place and you can direct me to the appropriate place I would appreciate it. I have installed hugs98 and have been using it to learn Haskell. I have been reading Paul Hudak's book and would like to try some of the graphics examples. I obtained the SOEGraphics library (version 2.0.4) and installed it. No reported problems during the install.
