[yesod] Messages / i18n question: how to handle "xx-xx" languages

Hi! I'am using mkMessage to create the i18n stuff for a project. I've created a en.msg and a de.msg and everything is running smoothly and I can use the message consts in my hamlet template with _{}. But I'am a little bit unsure whats the best practise to handle the language parameters like 'de-de' or 'en-us'. The Message framework does not seem to handle those cases by using en.msg for en-us if en-us.msg is not found. But copying the message files also seems not a good option. Putting a "take 2" version of the language to the _LANG cookie var works, but needs a reload to become active... Any suggestions / best practice advices? Regards Markus

[yesod] using presistance in sub sites

Hi there! I'm a bit confused on how to use persistence in a sub site... I've written this here, which fails to compile: https://gist.github.com/1058863 Is it possible at all to define persistence functionality on subsite level and then use the masters runDB ? Whats best practice here? I've seen yesod-auth let implement the persistance related stuff over a type class in the master ... But I'd like to keep that stuff with the subsite... Ideas, comments anyone? Thanks Markus

[xml-types] Help needed: Constructing XML documents

All works fine if I comment the line of createBook. I must be missing something because I was not able to use macid neither...

On moving Yesod-specific discussion to a separate list

Hello all, I was wondering if it would be possible to direct Yesod-specific discussion to a separate mailing list. I do not have any disrespect towards Yesod, the main problem is that one can only read some finite number of mailing lists before being overwhelmed. A certain portion of Yesod-related mails certainly belong on the web-devel list. I'm thinking of e.g. RFC's, announcements, libraries. These are all mails which are of interest to the webdev community as a whole. However, there's a difference between Yesod-related and Yesod specific. Personally, I am not interested in "How to do X in Yesod" mails, because I don't know much about Yesod, and sometimes it's hard to manually "filter" this mailing list before reading it. I think it would benefit the two types of readers if we could move Yesod-specific discussion to a separate mailing list. Cheers, Jasper

ANNOUNCE: mime-mail-ses 0.0.0

Hi all, I'd like to announce the first release of mime-mail-ses[1]. This provides easy integration between the mime-mail package[2] and Amazon's Simple Email Service. This package was written for the Haskellers website[3], purely because I despise setting up mail servers. There aren't many more features planned, though hopefully in the future it will integrate more closely with Aristid's aws package[4]. Also, a big thank you to Thomas DuBuisson for crypto-api[5] and Vincent Hanquez for cryptohash[6]. Those two packages make it very easy to write applications that require cryptographic authentication.
