Hi all, This patch allows ion3-style selection of workspace and creation of new named workspaces. Also allows you to do stuff like move a window to a named workspace, interactively selecting this workspace by name. It seems to work the same and looks better and less mysterious, so unless arossato had a specific reason for those particular two numbers... It currently only supports changing the current desktop (which at least for me is the most important feature). Note that you need my patch against X11-extras that adds ClientMessage support. You also need my messageHook hack against darcs. I tried to implement this without changes to the core, but trying to do some hack based on LayoutModifieres weren’t very satisfying. The code is still there, just commented. I’d very much appreciate any comments on how this functionality can go in, after 0.4, I guess. Hi all, This is a working, testable version of xmonad with main defined in the config file (now called Main.hs, so that ghc will be happy with the recursive imports, that I haven't yet eliminated). Hi all, Here's a sketch of how I envision the inversion of main and config working. It's a crude sketch, and won't compile (although EventLoop will compile) because I haven't gotten rid of the recursive module imports. But that'll take some work, so I'd like to get an agreement on the principle before proceeding. Comments are most welcome. Note also that, this being a sketch, I didn't work hard to make it pretty.
