darcs patch: add dmenuMap function (and 1 more)
by Devin Mullins 08 Oct '07

08 Oct '07

New dmenuMap function as recommended, and a WindowBringer contrib that depends upon the former. The workspaceMap function could probably use some cleanup -- `flip (,)` smells a little rotten, as do the seventeen thousand fmaps. Sun Oct 7 13:25:43 EDT 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * add dmenuMap function Sun Oct 7 13:36:33 EDT 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * Enter WindowBringer, Bringer of Windows.

Debian xmonad packages − please test
by Joachim Breitner 08 Oct '07

08 Oct '07

Hi, I have created Debian packages for xmonad, based on the 0.3 release. I will upload them to debian as soon as I get some positive feedback, so please test them. There are two binary packages: * xmonad contains the xmonad binary with the default configuration, as well as a wrapper in /usr/bin/xmonad that calls ~/.xmonad/xmonad instead, if it exists. * xmonad-rebuild contains the xmonad source and a script called xmonad-rebuild which will create a custom ~/.xmonad/xmonad if you have put your configuration in ~/.xmonad/config.hs It also comes with example configurations (contributions welcome) It does not yet contain XMonadContrib. dons mentioned that he had expected that directory to be present in the release tarballs, so when it appears in 0.4, it will also be in the source shipped with xmonad-rebuild and available for your custom configuration. You can find the packages on http://people.debian.org/~nomeata/xmonad/ Greetings, Joachim -- Joachim "nomeata" Breitner Debian Developer nomeata(a)debian.org | ICQ# 74513189 | GPG-Keyid: 4743206C JID: joachimbreitner(a)amessage.de | http://people.debian.org/~nomeata

darcs patch: change Dmenu functions to return IO/X (Maybe String)
by Devin Mullins 08 Oct '07

08 Oct '07

Sat Oct 6 03:09:59 EDT 2007 Devin Mullins <me(a)twifkak.com> * change Dmenu functions to return IO/X (Maybe String) dmenu exits with code 1 when you hit Escape, and I wanna create a contrib that takes advantage of that. This required changes in four contribs (Commands, DirectoryPrompt, ShellPrompt, and WorkspaceDir), and might require changes in users' Configs. Also, I'm not sure some of the changes I made to the client code are very Haskelly. Would appreciate input there.

cut & paste between xmonad and macosx appl
by Quân Ta 07 Oct '07

07 Oct '07

Hi, I've been running xmonad on my macbook pro for a week now, and I really like it. The only knack I have is that cut-and-paste between mac appl to xterm/urxvt and vice versa stop working. Does anyone running xmonad on macosx 10.4 having this problem? Or did I overlooked something in my setup? I've tried different setting in my X11 prefs without effect. Hope someone can give me some leads. TIA, Quan
