Apparently the problem was 'focus' and its mouse-handling. Spencer suggested that the calls to focus be replaced with 'focusWindow', which resolved it.

Hey List, Here's a bit of code i've found useful in my config. You can think of it as the 'get your *** out of work quickly card', as well as the 'oh ****, hide all the open porn!' button. Admittedly, i'm not sure it belongs in SinkAll, but that's where i shamelessly stole the code from. It also didn't seem like enough to actually spin out a new module just because. I'll let you all decide where it should go. Personally, i really don't care as much, just so long the functionality is there. :) Cheers, Yaakov

Start a skype call 2. Have the remote end start their video 3. On your machine, the skype call window will resize and the video will show up, but all the buttons will disappear. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The call window seems to resize correctly, but all the buttons are missing. I can resize and move the window around, but nothing seems to convince the buttons to show up. If the remote end stops video, then the window resizes to its original size, and the buttons show up. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Latest X11, xmonad, and xmonadcontrib from darcs as of 12/21/2008. Ubuntu Hardy. Latest skype for Linux. Please provide any additional information below. I have a web cam, so I can call an xmonad developer so they can experience the problem first hand. The developer does not need a cam since the problem only occurs when receiving video. I have included a screen shot of a voice only chat, and a screen shot of a video chat with the buttons missing. My place is not normally full of boxes -- I just moved and am still unpacking. Layout.Monitor: on window resizing

Hi, I'm using Layout.Monitor for my tray window (stalonetray). But I found it has problem with window's resizing. When a new tray icon appears, the tray window can not grow larger as usual. It will be very helpful if the author can consider this problem. best lars

I made a ~/.xsession file that has two lines: exec xmonad & exec gnome-session I also removed 'windowmanager' from /desktop/gnome/session/required_components_list in gconf. Finally, in Fedora, i installed a package that lets you use your ~/.xsession as a session file in GDM, but since you're using Gentoo, your mileage may vary. So far: 1) xmonad loads, and seems stable, i'm going to have to let it run for a longer time to make sure it doesn't crash 2) Nautilus and other apps load from spawn actions. 3) Pulseaudio didn't load, i'm going to have to debug that 4) Once i figure all that out, i'll make an xmonad-gnome-session script that will do all that, and that will probably end up being the Fedora way of loading xmonad as a WM. -Yaakov

Decide you want to use xmonad with gnome, and see it works well 2. Decide to use the scratchpad too 3. notice it fails to run gnome-terminal What is the expected output? What do you see instead? gnome-terminal uses --name, rather than the more usual -name, which is hardcoded into the scratchpad. I thought I could just specify the params myself, by directly calling scratchpadAction $ spawn $ "gnome-terminal --name scratchpad" But, scratchpadAction is not exported. So the only way to use gnome-terminal with the scratchpad ATM is using a wrapper script. I think that scratchpadAction should be exported so the above can be used. It might also be good to think of a way to let the -name parameter be configured. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.8 debian unstable Please provide any additional information below.
