It does fix the mentioned problem with windows changing size on drag-out-from-tiled, and it fixes a problem when trying to resize a window with mouse-follows-focus (XMonad.Actions.UpdatePointer) first cuts it to a quarter size (ie. it starts resize and only later the pointer is warped which xmonad interprets as a user resize) before letting one to resize it. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue. It still happens with the "Full" layout overlaid by a float window and is pretty annoying. : - ( I'm unpulling the above patches again. It also causes the other bug mentioned above, with wrong resize happening upon pulling a window out of tiled into float. two beginner's questions on XMonad config

Hello, I'm new both to Haskell and XMonad, so please bear with me if these questions are too much off-topic... 1) Since I have no modifier keys left on my laptop, and I'm an Emacs user (which takes away many C- and M- keybindings), I'd like to bind most XMonad actions with "C-z" as a prefix (using EZConfig). Is there a way to bind a key so that "C-z C-z" sends a C-z to the currently focused window? (Ratpoison has a similar feature for C-t) 2) Is there a variant of the Tall layout that does not resize the tiled non-master windows, but just pile them aside so that the one corner is visible and part of the window is offscreen? (larswm has this feature, called "tile_no_resize") This would be useful for rxvt's, which tend to erase part of the terminal after resizes. Is there a way to flag certain windows so that they are not resized? Thank you very much in advance! Riccardo

make a window always on top

Hi, I'm using stalonetray as my tray window, it's a tiny floating window. I set it to be on top layer, and it works well in openbox. Now I'm trying to move to xmonad, and I have made it ignored by managehook. But it is sticky in all workspaces, and ignored by window switching operations. But it can not stay on top of other windows anymore. Is there any way I can do it? Thanks. Best Lars

What do you see instead? SmartBorders should remove the border when mplayer is fullscreen, but in this case, it does not. While mplayer is still fullscreen, spawning a terminal in the same workspace will cause its border to disappear. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.8 debian unstable Please provide any additional information below. Switching to openjdk

Hy, just a note to everyone switching from sun-java6 to openjdk6 and using xmonad: The AWT_TOOLKIT export in the .bashrc doesnt work anymore because the openjdk doesnt contain the motif-code. So you must use the other workaround and use XMonad.Hooks.SetWMName from Contrib. Setting the WM-Name to "LG3D" works. It took me two hours to figure this out so think of this mail if you upgrade.
