Issue 200 in xmonad: xmonad spins in a tight loop changing focus back and forth

Issue 200: xmonad spins in a tight loop changing focus back and forth http://code.google.com/p/xmonad/issues/detail?id=200 New issue report by k.kosciuszkiewicz: What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Open office writer 2. Open a dialog window, say CTRL-O for open file 3. Move pointer from floating window to main window changing focus This happens with other apps as well. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect to see the focus changed to main application window. Instead the focus spins back and forth between two windows, and xmonad does not respond to keypresses. They are not discarded though, as when one of the windows is closed, xmonad "executes" all actions related to key events sent before. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? ghc 6.8.2 xmonad from darcs (0.7) open office 2.4.0 debian linux Please provide any additional information below. While the xmonad changes the focus back and forth, the window borders flicker, yet application windows have no problems in updating their state (say while hovering pointer over a button). Button clicks seem to be added to event queue but they get through to application only after xmonad finishes processing all the queued focus changes. xmonad t-shirts in europe?
by Johannes Waldmann 15 Aug '08

I wonder how to get an xmonad t-shirt in Germany/Europe. (I like the minimalist design - the black one.) Spreadshirt.com does only deliver in US/Canada, and Spreadshirt.de does not offer David's shop. Could someone set up a proxy? - Thanks, J.W.

gnome-panel with xmonad
by Tony Morris 13 Aug '08

13 Aug '08

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, being a noob trying to get started with xmonad (my first WM besides GNOME + some very brief experimentation), I have run into the fact that I no longer have my applications (such as xchat, skype and a clock) docked in a tray. I googled around and it seems there was once a document that talked specifically about gnome-panel, but this doesn't seem to be the case anymore at http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/Xmonad/Using_xmonad_in_Gnome Is there a document explaining how us GNOME-converts can get all the good bits we once once had as well as the good bits of xmonad? - -- Tony Morris http://tmorris.net/ Real-world problems are simply degenerate cases of pure mathematical problems. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIonADmnpgrYe6r60RAgwlAJ9tFQBpqGpOU7+wdlC9gRCluxh4kACfXyMX VBzXwqTRpxFaOd0ww+8amho= =DZBm -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
