This patch superscedes and should conflict with the previous ones that added the same module. It solves the issues with L.TabbedModifier not updating window titles, where the hidden windows are not made to send ExposeEvents without a refresh (which is even less pleasant than this).

If I start X in the way I described I should somehow prevent this myself. However I think the behaviour of XMonad is still not optimal since it shouldn't crash if an application attempts that. Or at least it shouldn't do so silently. It could leave a message in xmonad.errors. Wasn't there a thread about unifiying error logging on the mailing list lately? You are saying that you are using an xmobarrc that includes StdinReader, or some other status bar that reads and displays the output from xmonad's logHook, i.e. dynamic log workspace info, etc. /is/ displayed in status bar? But then after screensaver runs xmonad stops responding? Go to an empty workspace. Start a terminal window. Start another terminal window. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? When the second window appeared, I expected to see the layout split with a Master on the left, and the other window on the right. What I saw instead was a Full layout. When a third terminal was started up, the layout DID behave as expected, with the split between Master and the other windows. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? This is xmonad-darcs, XMonadContrib-darcs on Ubuntu Intrepid 8.04 Please provide any additional information below. I think this is an error in XMonad/Layout/Master.hs, line 79: if length ws > 2 then do If I change the "> 2" to ">= 2", it works as expected. So it looks like an off-by-one error.
