Using the Chromium package, "chromium-browser" What is the expected output? A running chromium instance. What do you see instead? The program 'chromium-browser' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'. (Details: serial 116 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? xmonad 0.9, installed from Hackage Xubuntu 9.10 Are you using an xmonad.hs? Please attach it and the output of "xmonad --recompile". Please provide any additional information below. Error does not happen when using xfce + Xubuntu 9.10, nor in xmonad 0.9 + Xubuntu 9.04. What do you see instead? Nothing happens. This doesn't occur with other WM (metacity). Are you using an xmonad.hs? Please attach it and the output of "xmonad --recompile". I have a static config containing lots of topics, but sometimes I have a task that requires a new topic and I dont want to add it to my config but just add it temporarily. Therefore, it would be nice, if there was a way to easily combine X.A.TopicSpaces with X.A.DynamicWorkspaces and X.Prompt. Something like a keybind that pops-up two prompts, one for the topic name and one for the action and then creates this new topic, and one for deleting topics... darcs patch: X.A.TopicSpace: new viewMethod field

I've attached a small patch which adds a 'viewMethod' field to TopicSpace configs, allowing the user to choose what method (usually view or greedyView) is used to view workspaces. This will not break any configs (except for those silly enough to use an explicit TopicConfig constructor instead of overriding fields in the default config record) since the default is the same as the old behavior. -Brent

Put some windows on main screen, and some on another screen 3. Switch between different workspaces using mod 1, mod 2 ... What is the expected output? What do you see instead? It is easy to get windows messed up. A window which should show on main screen can jump to another screen. What version of the product are you using? The modified state is also passed to the subsequent call of redoLayout, whose return takes precedence if both functions return modified states of the layout modifier.

Attached is a patch which adds a new exported function to TopicSpace, appropriate for providing as the ppSort field of a PP DynamicLog record, which sorts workspaces by history. The current facilities provided by TopicSpace for interfacing with DynamicLog are much too monolithic; this patch adds functionality that I want (and which others might find useful) but it really ought to be completely refactored to provide many smaller components that users can assemble however they like. -Brent
