Manual tiling layout

Hi, Is it possible to create (possible with layout modifiers that divide the current layout) a manual tiling layout similar to musca? By this I mean, that I can decide per keypress to divide the space of the current window, change its size and merge it with another window? I really like the musca tiling algorithm, but I also like xmonads many features ... Regards, Nathan

Importing Stackset qualified

I noticed yesterday in my config, 'import qualified XMonad.StackSet as W', and I wondered - why do we do that? Is there some rationale behind it or is it just tradition? XMonad.Util.ExtensibleState no found

Hi, I am trying to run a conig file from the xmonad homepage. I get the Error: Could not find module `XMonad.Util.ExtensibleState' googling tells me that the modules should be available in xmonad-contrib 0.9.1 I am on gentoo linux and have xmonad 0.9.1 and xmonad-contrib 0.9.1 Any Ideas? XMonad in linuxmint 64bits

Hello, I have installed XMonad in my computer with LinuxMint version 9, 64 bits, Linux Kernel 2.6.32-21-generic, GNOME: 2.30.0 I had no problems with the installation but when I try to run xmonad from a terminal I got the following message: /home/luis/.xmonad/xmonad-x86_64-linux: executeFile: does not exist (No such file or directory) xmonad executable is in /usr/bin and there is not .xmonad directory in my home directory, neither an executable xmonad-x86_64-linux in any directory. I created a directory .xmonad and a symbolic link xmonad-x86_64-linux but nothing happenned. I downloaded all the software with the software manager utility. Does anyone know why is LinuxMint asking for executable xmonad-x86_64-linux?, do I have to create this?, if yes, how?. In the documents there is not reference to a directory .xmonad, the reference is to .xsessions, is this a change that has not been documented yet?. Thank you very much for your kind answer. Luis.

The IM layout and skype

Hi, I am using the IM layout for skype. The problem is, that the chat windows tend to get into the area for the contacts window. I use the layout like this: withIM (1%7) (ClassName "Skype") (LG.Grid False) But both the contacts window, as well as the chat windows have the same class name: WM_CLASS(STRING) = "skype", "Skype" What can I do? Urgent border color

Is there a way to set the border color for windows with urgent flag set? Looks like there's no way to set it using XConfig or UrgencyHook. I saw something on topic inside Theme, but it should be working only for decorations.
