When using an xmonad standard key binding with a minimal gnomeConfig xmonad.hs to change workspace the new workspace is not properly highlighted in the workspace switcher display. Including ewmhDesktopsLogHook in xmonad.hs solves the problem. What version of the product are you using? Layout for GIMP. How to?

Hello I'm trying to create layout for Gimp. It's program which really asked for clever layout and otherwise not very usable. First I've tried Nathan's layout based on nested IMs [1]. However it didn't worked well. 1. There is only one window in side panels (Layers etc). If I open two dock windows one of them goes into main working area. 2. If I open two image windows and move mouse cursor to toolbox one of windows always gets in front. Observed only with Full layout. How should it work in my opinion. Screen is separated in three vertical areas. Left is for tools. Center is working area. Right for docks. Right and central area has own layouts. Center must have way to change layouts. Virtual desktops gnome style?

In gnome, each virtual desktop in the pager is really a pair of virtual desktops if you have two monitors. So if you start a new session, then load up some stuff on both monitors, then switch to desktop 2, now nothing is visible -- both monitors are on a fresh slate, and so on for however many virtual desktops you have. I'd really prefer if xmonad followed the same behavior. Is there an easy way to code this? My haskell-fu is weak. Or maybe there's a contrib module that does what I want already?

XMonad + Xinerama + Gnome + Ubuntu = No Love

Hey guys, I am using xmonad with gnome on my dual screen desktop and I am getting some really weird results. Windows will show up correctly on both monitors, but switching desktops (with Meta 1, 2, 3) doesn't switch both of the monitors, only the active one. I try to run xmonad under my gnome. I put the code below in my xmonad.hs import XMonad import XMonad.Config.Gnome main = xmonad gnomeConfig not found errors or changes to xmonad.hs won't take effect . Size of slave area automatically changes depending on number of slave windows. Master windows are placed in master area in one row. I am trying to installing the xmonad in Archlinux. But when I try to run xmonad, it always gives me an error xmonad: X11 error: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied), request code=28, error code=10 Is there anyone can help me with this? xmonad error on Ubuntu 9.04

Hi All, I just installed xmonad on a new Ubuntu 9.04 system and was hoping it would be quick to setup. I killed metacity and tried to run xmonad from the command line. I get the following error and not sure what it could be due to. I am using ghc 6.10.3 and seem to have all the necessary packages.
