Problem with Emacs and XMonad

Hi Since I started using Emacs 23 (from CVS) I've been having problems with it when using XMonad [1]. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I talked to the people on the emacs-devel mailing list, but none of them seemed to know whether this is caused by Emacs or XMonad. Does anyone here know? More trouble with KDE apps

Hi folks, I wrote a couple of weeks ago that kpowermon opened a full window with its icon, rather than going in the tray. That was annoying, but today I discover Amarok is doing the same thing. That's MORE annoying, because I really want to use it. So it opens a full window with junk in it, except the center, which has its small tray-sized icon. This in additional to its regular window, of course. Any ideas what to do about this? This is KDE 4. The majority of apps work just fine, both KDE and Gnome, but a few are misbehaving strangely like this. Again, I did not have the problem before switching to xmonad. I am using the KDE configs in xmonad. -- John

hi, does anyone else have this problem? xmobar occasionally takes up high cpu usage. In 'top', it appears X is using to much cpu, but using oprofile, I found it's xmobar who is using the CPU. Restart xmobar solves this problem. Thanks lars

Multi Head Setups with Newer Xorg?

Hi All, Since upgrading my ubuntu install (and breaking my multi head xmonad setup), I've been reading a lot about how xinerama is broken for newer xorgs, and is deprecated in favor of xrandr (which doesn't handle multi-head on more than one card). Looks like my only option is to revert back to ubuntu 8.04, or dump some screens. How are you dealing with this? Has anyone found a workaround? -matt

xmonad Gnome Bar config

Hi, I have a config similar to John Yates' Gnome bar config, but the dzen2 bar appears behind the Gnome bar. Is there simple way to solve this? Perhaps there's a command to raise window to the front that I can use at startup? Cheers, Alexey

Get mouse to follow cursor

Hi When I move to a new window I would like the mouse pointer to be at the same position as the text cursor. Does anyone have a solution to this? I would like this since I use http://linuxaleph.blogspot.com/2008/11/mapping-middle-click-to-keyboard-key… to be able to paste text using the keyboard, and for this to work for example in a browser input field the mouse must follow the text cursor. Currently I use import XMonad.Actions.UpdatePointer and logHook = updatePointer (Relative 0.5 0.5) to get the pointer to at least follow the focused window. Thanks in advance. Magnus
