Configure withIM layout to match a window title with UTF8 chars as roster. Ex: withIM (1%7) (Title "foo™") (Tall 1 0.5 0.5) 2. Run a window with the configured name. Ex: xterm -T "foo™" -e read What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The window should be placed as withIM layout roster. In this case, on a separated column to the left. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Latest XMonad Darcs on Debian/testing amd64 Are you using an xmonad.hs? Please attach it and the output of "xmonad --recompile". xmonad --recompile prints nothing. Please provide any additional information below. I consider this a bug, since manageHook can match the same window correctly. Applications are solely responsible for the positioning of these windows (which are generally override-redirect, meaning the WM leaves them entirely alone). The bug must be in Firefox, or whichever toolkits exhibit this behavior. Boot the laptop with no external monitor 2. Observe that everything works fine 3. Suspend the laptop (this step and step 5 might not be necessary) 4. Attach an external monitor 5. Resume the laptop 6. Hit "Fn + F8" (the key to make the monitor mode change) until both the internal and external monitor show desktops 7. On the external monitor, right click to get a context menu or hover to get a tool tip in some app (I suggest firefox) 8. Notice that the tooltip is actually on the internal monitor (although it is lined up vertically) *What is the expected output? What do you see instead?* I expect the tooltip/context menu to appear under the mouse in step 8 above. *What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?* Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty Jackalope XMonad 0.8 *Are you using an xmonad.hs? The patch also ensures that the data persists between restarts. This can be used to simplify modules that use IORefs to maintain some form of mutable state(e.g. X.A.SpawnOn), since passing around the IORef is now no longer necessary. The functionality is implemented by storing a Map String StateExtension in XState that associates string representations of data types with their values. These values have to implement Typeable, Show and Read. Proper instances for the latter two are only needed when one wants the data to be persistent between restarts.

Enabling -fwarn-tabs for commit test (for contrib)

Hi, I want to add '-fwarn-tabs' to the warnings run when testing patches? (and clean up the couple uses of tabs). The warning is documented in ghc-6.8, missing in ghc-6.6 (but it could still be there?), ghc-6.6 does not support the current darcs contrib, due to various pragmas in use, such as -XDeriveDataTypeable, among others. Changing the -fglasgow-exts flags to more specific pragmas should carry the same risks too. Cheers, Adam

Hello xmonad world. This module defines layot named Column. It places all windows in one column. Windows heights are calculated from equation: H1/H2 = H2/H3 = ... = q, where `q' is given (thus, windows heights are members of geometric progression). With Shrink/Expand messages one can change the `q' value. I use this layout for Gimp's image windows - such, with 2 images and (Column 2.0), first image window occupies 2/3 and second - 1/3 of screen height. WBR, Portnov.
