Hello people, Attached is a darcs patch that allows easy queries for WM_CLIENT_MACHINE window property. The patch is just an extension without code refactoring - there is a space for code minimization since WM_WINDOW_ROLE uses 90% the same code. I'm not sure, however, if it's worth of effort if only two window properties (so far) share the similar code. It can be used in scenarios when we need to distinguish between windows running on different machines. Here's a simple example of usage: workspaceIm = withIM 0.125 (Machine "atom" `And` Role "buddy_list" `And` ClassName "Pidgin") $ reflectHoriz $ withIM 0.125 (Machine "germ" `And` Role "buddy_list" `And` ClassName "Pidgin") (Mirror Grid) If there is a different (better) way for querying for WM_CLIENT_MACHINE which would make this patch irrelevant, please let me know and forget about the patch. If the idea is ok, but implementation is a bit untidy, I (or anyone else who feels comfortable doing that) can adjust the dpatch. If the patch is ok, I would kindly ask for including the dpatch to the xmonad contrib repository. Does it mean it has been fixed or abandoned? I'm currently using XMonad 0.8.1-1.2, openoffice-base 3.1.0-2 and ghc 6.10.3-1 and have this problem, too. I noticed that adding "className =? \"VCLSalFrame\" --> doFloat" to manageHook seems to alleviate the problem in that the crazy focus jumps are easier to stop. I have 4 monitors in a 2x2 configuration. I would like to replace the w-e-r key bindings with w-e-s-d key bindings to match my 2x2 configuration, but it does not work. Specifically, the w & e keys work, but the s & d keys do not work. My code to set these key bindings is a modification of the standard xmonad.hs template from xmonad 0.8. (My modifications are at the end.) I would like the following mapping: s -> screen 1 d -> screen 2 w -> screen 3 e -> screen 4 Here is the section from my xmonad.hs file. Remove .hi and .o before recompilation?

Hi, at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=532443 several users have complained about problems with recompilation when upgrading ghc6. It is not entirely sure whether this is due to a Debian-only change, or whether it happens at regular ghc6 upgrades sometimes as well. Anyways, I think it would not hurt to remove the xmonad.hi and xmonad.o files before calling ghc6 in the "recompile" function. Would this be acceptable? Hello, I have some trouble with xmonad multihead configuration. It displays one workspace in two monitors, mod+w,e,r don't work. Even though I never normally switch to that workspace, it seems that internally the ScratchPad code, in moving a window to or from it, updates the record of the previous workspace that toggleWS uses.
