It consists of two functions; one to transform a geometry, the other to undo the transformation. It is set locally by 'withGeometry' and read by 'mkAdjust' in order to correctly apply size hints in transformed rectangles. 'Mirror' uses this to swap the X and Y axes.

All browser links stopped working in KDE

After Debian testing upgraded a number of KDE packages for me last night, my KDE/xmonad system is now quite crippled. KDE is at 3.5.9. Clicking on links in browsers does not work - neither in Iceweasel (Firefox for Debian) nor Konqueror. When I use KWin, KDE's standard window manager, instead of xmonad, this problem does not occur. Note: There are also some problems with the way mouse clicks work with menus and some other GUI controls. In particular, clicking on the menu bar in Iceweasel does not work, clicking on drop-down menus in KDE applications does not work, and clicking on the menu bar in KDE applications acts strangely. However, these issues also occur with KWin, not just with xmonad. Something has clearly gone sour in KDE on my system. Thanks, Yitz

I mentioned I was working on adding Xinerama support to WindowNavigation on #xmonad, and sjanssen told me to rewrite as a not-layoutmodifier, and I do what sjanssen says. :) This is a first draft, and doesn't actually do everything that droundy's original does, but "go" seems to work all right (even across screens!), so the adventurous may try it out (and even keep using the layoutmodifier for swap, for now). I'd push it, but since it's fairly major, I figured people oughta have input (not the least of whom droundy). Silence is concurrence! It indicates whether we're inside a layout that swaps the X and Y axes. It defaults to 'False', and 'Mirror' toggles it. 'XMonad.Operations.mkAdjust' reads it in order to apply size hints correctly. This change should make the Tall/Wide distinction in HintedTile redundant, because Mirror (HintedTile ...) works now, using mirrored size hints where appropriate.

Just dropping in a quick note: I've uploaded to Hackage the 0.1 release of xmonad-utils here: <http://hackage.haskell.org/cgi-bin/hackage-scripts/package/xmonad-utils>. There is of course a Darcs repo available as well: <http://gorgias.mine.nu/repos/xmonad-utils>. What is xmonad-utils? It's a couple of small Xlib programs which might be useful for Xmonaders. In particular: * hxsel can replace xclip, and was the foundation for the XMonad.Util.XSelection module in XMonadContrib/; it gets a copy of the copy-paste buffer to manipulate * hhp is a replacement for unclutter, the famous utility which hides your mouse when not in use and so cleans up your screen (but which is also famously unmaintained and buggy). I've personally found hhp to be very helpful, so I packaged it all up. Miscellaneous notes: * There is also a 'heval' program, which tries to provide an X prompt to a GHC eval through the GHC API, but that may or may not work for you (it doesn't compile for me, but I'm fairly sure that's because my 'directory' package is b0rked in an unrelated manner). * There is a requirement on cabal >= 1.4; this was needed because older Cabals didn't properly include in the sdist tarball one of the .hsc files.
