Full screen float window and its border

Dear xmonad users, After a recent pull, I found out that the `manageHook' works quite good with gimp, mplayer, acrobat reader and etc. However, the extra borders showing at the top and left when in full screen mode are quite annoying. I tried to make a change as { hunk ./Operations.hs 535 - rr = W.RationalRect ((fi (wa_x wa) - fi (rect_x sr)) % fi (rect_width sr)) - ((fi (wa_y wa) - fi (rect_y sr)) % fi (rect_height sr)) + rr = W.RationalRect ((fi (wa_x wa - bw) - fi (rect_x sr)) % fi (rect_width sr)) + ((fi (wa_y wa - bw) - fi (rect_y sr)) % fi (rect_height sr)) } which works for acrobat reader. But mplayer in full screen mode shows extra borders at the right and bottom. I guess probably I'm looking in a wrong place? It currently only supports changing the current desktop (which at least for me is the most important feature). Note that you need my patch against X11-extras that adds ClientMessage support. You also need my messageHook hack against darcs. I tried to implement this without changes to the core, but trying to do some hack based on LayoutModifieres weren’t very satisfying. The code is still there, just commented. I’d very much appreciate any comments on how this functionality can go in, after 0.4, I guess. Greetins, Joachim

Issue 58: XMonadContrib docs are broken http://code.google.com/p/xmonad/issues/detail?id=58 Comment #3 by nomorecolors: you are right, the online documentation should and does work for 0.3 xmonad, even if it's too obscure for a newbie to grasp for example, the combo extension mentions "add something like bla to your defaultLayouts". I think that's a bit hard for somebody who doesnt know haskell and/or how xmonad works on the other hand, the darcs version of extensions doesnt always have a working example in the code, see for example HintedTile or LayoutHints, they examples dont handle layouts correctly. all those docs should be updated before a 0.4 version dons, am i forgetting something from our irc discussion? -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue. That doesn't make sense, and isn't supported. Either: a) the online docs fail with xmonad version 0.3 -- please report a bug or b) the offline docs in the XMonadContrib source are out of date wrt. their source -- pleaes report a bug, or send a patch Can you clarify precisely which is the case? RotView readability patch

Hello, I started using RotView recently, but I felt like the code was rather difficult to understand at a glance. I wanted to share the changes I made in case anyone else felt the same way. Wmii like actions for xmonad

Hello, attached patch implements the wmii like actions (wmii.suckless.org) It basically scans the directory for executables and passes it to dmenu so user can choose one, which is executed afterwards. Regards, Juraj
