This is sort of tangential, but why do people keep making this conditional? SmartBorders already disables itself when there are multiple visible workspaces.

It does? I had been under the impression from years back that one of the key reasons SmartBorders was not in -core was that it didn't work well for multiple monitors, and this is the first I've heard about it already having a conditional in it. If it does, then that's great... -- gwern
