It should be easy to check for these. Suggestions: {{{ghc-options: -Wall -Werror}}} is a very bad combination. It means the package will break silently as soon as the next version of ghc adds a new warning, which generally does happen every major release. {{{ghc-options: -fasm}}} is unnecessary and breaks on all arches except for x86, x86-64 and ppc. {{{ghc-options: -O}}} is unnecessary since Cabal does that itself and it prevents people from configuring with the {{{--disable-optimization}}} flag. {{{ghc-options: -O2}}} may be necessary in some circumstances but people should not use it routinely for the same reasons as -O and since -O2 take a lot longer to compile most of the time and usually with little benefit. {{{ghc-options: -ffi}}} or {{{-fffi}}} use extensions: ForeignFunctionInterface. I have completed changes to the Unlit module, and also a change to the Haddock module (to run unlit before cpp). darcs patches attached. I'd love to know what the official approach to testing is. I have written a test module which exercises the Unlit module, but I'm not sure how to tie it in to any existing test infrastructure. At the moment I just have it sitting in tests/unlit. So the bahaviour is now that main-is specifies the main source file, even if that is generated by a pre-processor. This isn't really a change in behaviour since previously if you specified main-is: main.hsc then it would try to pass the .hsc file to ghc dirctly which would not work. For ticket #14 things were fixed to that it would look for main.hsc if you used main-is: main.hs an that file did not exist directy. This completes the other half, of actually being able to make a src distribution. So this should fix bug #217. Note that this still needs some work, we do not run platform-independent preprocessors and put the result into the tarball for main-is files. Generally, main-is has been the second class citizen compared to normal modules. The previous code was deciding wether to continue a comment based on wether the intervenienting lines were completely blank or had at least one space in. The other suggestion was to use a '.' to continue a comment line. Instead, this change uses a single blank line between comments to continue a comment and anything else terminates it with a blank line. Cabal QA message typo

I can't easily send patches from work so I'll report this bug before I forget about it. There's a typo in Distribution/PackageDescription/QA.hs ghcWarn "-O2" $ "-O2 is rarely needed as it often prolong the compile time " ++ "with usually with little benefit." Notice the extra "with." -- Johan
