We're having a 1-day conference on all things Haskell in London on October

We're bringing together the cream of the crop in the Haskell community to
discuss 22 years of Haskell, its creative development from its academic
origins, and its latest and future applications.
Speakers include Simon Peyton Jones on 22 years of Haskell and the future
of types and parallelism; Simon Marlow on High Performance Concurrence;
Lennart Augustsson on Embedded Domain Specific Language in Haskell; Duncan
Couts on Cloud Haskell, and more experts in the field. Of course, we'll
leave plenty of time and room for discussion and mingling, topped off with
a couple of pints in the pub.

Dear Haskellers,
I am pleased to announce that a test instance of the Hackage 2 server is
now running at
http://new-hackage.haskell.org/
The plan is to test the new server for 3 weeks (until Monday 24
September), before switching over to Hackage 2 for real.
The server has a mirror of Hackage from about a month ago, but more
recent uploads are not automatically mirrored. In order to upload
packages to it, you will need to sign up for an account and then mail
the Hackage admins (hackage-admin(a)haskell.org) telling them your
username and asking to be added to the 'uploaders' group.
If you run into any problems, please either file a ticket tagged
'hackage2' at https://github.com/haskell/cabal/issues or send an e-mail
to the cabal-devel(a)haskell.org mailing list.
A few more details about the plan: Assuming no major issues are found,
the plan for after Monday is to disable uploads to the current Hackage
server, to make an up-to-date mirror of it, and then to switch over to
Hackage 2.

Hello,
I'm pleased to announce the relase of ghc-vis. This package provides a
way to visualize live data structures in GHCi, similar to GHCi's :print
and vacuum-cairo. Evaluation is not forced and you can interact with the
visualized data structures. This allows seeing Haskell's lazy evaluation
and sharing in action. Hopefully it will be useful for teaching Haskell
and understanding and debugging data structures.
Currently there's a linear view and a graph view using GraphViz. If you
want to see some examples of how it looks head to

or just give it a try like this:
$ cabal install ghc-vis
