SBLP provides a venue for researchers and practitioners interested in the fundamental principles and innovations in the design and implementation of programming languages and systems. SUBMISSIONS Contributions should be written in Portuguese or English. We solicit papers that should fall into one of two different categories: full papers, with at most 15 pages, or short papers, with at most 5 pages. Full papers submitted in English will be published in a volume of Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), by Springer (pending approval). For this reason, all papers must be prepared using the LNCS template, available at http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0. We encourage the submission of short papers reporting on partial results of on-going master dissertations or doctoral theses. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings distributed in a digital media by the CBSOFT organizers. Faculty positions at DIKU, University of Copenhagen

Have you ever felt like building a (novel) supercomputer, putting Haskell (or your own language) on it and make it solve "big" problems? Maybe you should apply for one of these faculty positions then: DIKU has 1-2 open faculty positions in computer systems and/or data management, which can be filled at all levels: full professor, associate professor and assistant professor. This is part of strengthening DIKU's activities in high-performance computing, "big" data management, and cloud computing. Candidates should have first-rate research and teaching credentials commensurate for the level of position they are applying for, with an emphasis on building and evaluating systems. Subjects include databases, distributed systems, parallel systems (including language design and compilation techniques), computer networks, security and cloud computing. Applications expressing an interest in bringing principled knowledge from algorithms and programming languages to bear and/or developing new such knowledge for practical computer systems are highly encouraged. E.g., novel approaches to security such as language-based security, including DSLs; designing and implementing high-level programming languages for massively parallel architectures; large-scale data management in a cloud environment; etc. The new faculty will be joining the Algorithms and Programming Languages section of DIKU, which sports a substantial Functional Programming group. Call for Nominations: Haskell Prime language committee

Dear Haskell lovers, The Haskell Prime process for standardisation of new versions of the Haskell language is at something of an impasse. Since the Haskell 2010 Report was issued (at the end of 2009), there has been very little momentum to formalise existing extensions and generalisations, nor appetite to decide on whether any such extensions should be adopted as part of the core language standard. We therefore seek nominations for new members of the Haskell Prime language committee; people who have the enthusiasm to take this forward, as well as some relevant experience. If you think you would like to contribute, please nominate yourself by sending a email to haskell-2011-committee(a)haskell.org describing who you are, and what you think the committee might hope to achieve. The address above is populated by the existing committee members, but is now (temporarily) open to all during the nomination period.
