Unfortunately, we can not tell the panel what size and position it should think the apps are. Fri Oct 12 00:55:58 CEST 2007 mail(a)joachim-breitner.de * EwmhDesktops reacts to messages from panel apps Hi, this patch makes EwmhDesktops react to ClientMessages send from e.g. the panel switcher. It currently only supports changing the current desktop (which at least for me is the most important feature). Note that you need my patch against X11-extras that adds ClientMessage support. You also need my messageHook hack against darcs. I tried to implement this without changes to the core, but trying to do some hack based on LayoutModifieres weren’t very satisfying. The code is still there, just commented. I’d very much appreciate any comments on how this functionality can go in, after 0.4, I guess. When I click on a tab, sometimes the window changes, sometimes not. Even if the window does change, though, the tab I clicked does not become hilighted until I move the mouse into the window. Floating Workspace

Hy, is there a possibility to make a whole workspace floating? Ion3 got this feature of a "floating workspace" where you can put applications which dont work well if their sizehints are not taken into account. I got one aplication which leads into many problems if run in a tiled-mode. Is there a Layoutmanager which makes all windows floating from start, so that every window gets its size? New debian packages, including xmonad-contrib

Hi, I continued to work on my debian packages for xmonad 0.5. Besides some cleanup in the xmonad package, I got around to package xmonad-contrib. You can find the packages again here: http://people.debian.org/~nomeata/xmonad/ So if you run debian (or something debian-based like ubuntu), and you run the release version of xmonad, you should be able to use these packages without problems. I’m still waiting for X11-1.4.1 to enter Debian for the upload to the main archive, but I hope to get some feedback on the packages until then.
