darcs patch: put transients completely on the screen when possible.

I understand, sjanssen, that you don't want this patch, but I thought I might as well send it in in case anyone else would like somewhat more selective placement of transient windows. David Tue Sep 25 20:38:37 EDT 2007 David Roundy <droundy(a)darcs.net> * put transients completely on the screen when possible.

darcs patch: merge old workspace tags with new on res... (and 1 more)
by David Roundy 27 Sep '07

27 Sep '07

Hi all, the new change here (which I could amend to not depend on the other patch if desired) makes it so that Config.hs defines a "defaultLayout" that is the initial layout. This makes it a little easier to introduce global layout modifiers (e.g. WorkspaceDir). I don't think it overcomplicates Config.hs, either, although it'd be nice to not have to define possibleLayouts. David Wed Sep 26 14:33:09 EDT 2007 David Roundy <droundy(a)darcs.net> * merge old workspace tags with new on restart. Thu Sep 27 10:36:04 EDT 2007 David Roundy <droundy(a)darcs.net> * define defaultLayout in Config.hs.

darcs patch: make DragPane work with the new Layout class
by Andrea Rossato 27 Sep '07

27 Sep '07

Hi, As you see there is some code duplication here. I would like to use Decoration as a library for X functions, to be used for creating decoration indeed. I don't know if we can abstract the Hide/Resource part (of Tabbed and DragPane), as Decoration was doing before, but I would like to think about that. Maybe I can come up with something. Is that ok? by Andrea Rossato 26 Sep '07

26 Sep '07

Hi, the first fixes a bug in NewTabbed (visible if you hide/unhide the gaps) and removes the orphan instance warning. The second makes MagicFocus work with the new class. According to MetaModule this is what is left to do: DragPane HintedTile Magnifier Mosaic Spiral As far as I understand (David can you confirm?) these are going to be removed: Tabbed - substituted by NewTabbed Decoration - now useless SimpleStacking - now useless Wed Sep 26 13:40:56 CEST 2007 Andrea Rossato <andrea.rossato(a)unibz.it> * NewTabbed: we must check if the sceen rectangle changed - Check if rectangle changed - removed orphan instances warnings - some code formatting Wed Sep 26 13:43:07 CEST 2007 Andrea Rossato <andrea.rossato(a)unibz.it> * make MagicFocus work with the new Layout class
