Attached a patch that does just that. This is urgent, since Mirror, applied to a decorated layout/layout modifier/combinator would break the decoration layer producing difficult to be tracked effects (which could be reported as separate bugs). darcs patch: Make Mirror implement emptyLayout (and 1 more)

Hi, the first patch is needed to have Mirror correclty implement emptyLayout. I believe that now Mirror should be reimplemented as a LayoutModifier. The second one is needed because LayoutCombinators and LayoutModifiers may need to look at the state or perform IO operation before producing a combined/modified description. If we do not give them this method people will start implementing again combinators and modifier as layouts. Which means that everytime we change the layout implementation we have to change modifiers and combinators too. I'd be quite fed up with that...;) I'm sendin the patch to xmc to be pushed together with this one. I reverted it to its previous implementation since the LayoutCombinator class I based it upon in my implementation was inherently bugged due to the Layout semantics. At least this should prevent the submission of bug reports related to the class implementation. Anyway, since this combinator is implemented with the semantics of a Layout, I think that there *must* also be an implementation of the newly introduced emptyLayout method, otherwise this this layout combinator is going to badly break all the new decoration framework, producing bugs reports that can be quite difficult to track. I'd beg Brent to mark this stuff as urgent. Moving windows to a workspace based on their title / console applications in terminal emulators

Hi all! For many purposes I am using console applications, like centerim, irssi or mutt. Now when I start xmonad, I'd like to open a bunch of applications (Can I do this via .xinitrc), like firefox, mutt, etc. These should then be moved to a workspace, based on the application running. So when I start an rxvt-Terminal with mutt, I want this to be moved to workspace 3, how can I do this? On top of that I can't figure out how to move gimp to a special workspace. I have setten it to float, but I tried the class names, gimp, Gimp, gimp-2.2 etc. but it won't go to the workspace I want, when I start it. Anyway what is this class name to identify a window?
