That fix worked for me too, so I attach a modified ebuild for Gentoo which includes that flag and a warning with instructions on how to proceed after recompiling it. I didn't know how to contact the haskell overlay team, I hope someone sees the ebuild here. I hope it's useful to someone. It seems to have worked for me at least. Mod Key on Mac OS X..

I got xmonad running on my mac (mostly followed http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/Xmonad/Using_xmonad_on_Apple_OSX) However, I don't have any mod key active. Neither the apple command nor the alt works. I have let the default config for mod mask: defaultModMask = mod1Mask And have set numlockMask = 0 I am running 10.5.6 and X11:XQuartz 2.3.2 (xorg-server 1.4.2-apple31) Could someone help to get this working? Thanks.

What do you see instead? Changing focus between two windows using the mouse with focus follows mouse can cause the magnifier to enter a loop where it first focuses the upper window and magnifies it, then focuses and magnifies the lower, etc. To cause the loop, the mouse has to be wiggled just right, to move more quickly than xmonad can focus+magnify a window. There is a rectangle where the magnified window overlaps the other window. Change focus by moving the mouse pointer from the magnified window to the other window, and then quickly move it back into the overlap rectangle. If this is done before xmonad has finished reacting to the initial focus change, then it will get into the loop. To break out of the loop, move the mouse pointer outside the overlap rectangle. I can reproduce it on demand here by just moving the pointer up and down repeatedly as fast as possible using my laptop's touchpad. I have also reproduced it by accident a few times. I can provide a video of the bug in action if my description doesn't make sense. What version of the product are you using? displaying chinese in xmobar

hi, im using the xmobar binary downloaded from xmobar's homepage, it should be compiled with utf-8 support i think. but i still get chinese characters messed up xmobar, for example, a chinese window title. here are my settings: in xmonad.hs: myPP h = defaultPP { ppOutput = System.IO.UTF8.hPutStrLn h } my locale: lars:~$ locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8" LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8" LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8" LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8" LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ALL= do you know whats wrong? or who else can display non-ascii characters in xmobar? thanks lars
