Toggle Magnification

Hi all, I would like to maximize my focused window. There are three modules in the Xmonad-contrib library : XMonad.Layout.Magnifier, XMonad.Layout.Maximize, XMonad.Layout.MultiToggle. They all appear to implement maximizing. Any recommendations? -deech

I am trying to get maximization working with the MultiToggle module but Xmonad keeps crashing. Here is the layout and keybinding section of my conf file: >mylayoutHook = mkToggle (single FULL) ( Grid False ||| Accordion ||| ResizableTall 1 (3/100) (1/2) [] ||| tabbed shrinkText defaultTheme) >keysToAdd x = [((modMask x, xK_m), sendMessage $ Toggle FULL)] I can reproduce the problem by doing the following. Start Xmonad (starts off in Grid mode). Then `Alt-Space` to toggle Accordion, ResizableTall, tabbed, and back to Grid. `Alt-Space` again and the X server crashes. resize floating window?

hi, is there any function to resize the focused floating window? it should be something like setWidth w +10px setHeight w -10px so that we can bind to a key. thanks lars

a problem: xmobar is always on top

hi, i just tried xmobar and it seems very nice. but a problem is that it's always on top, even after i toggle avoid struts. i want to make it disappear or stay in bottom after i toggle avoid struts off. is it possible? i really like real full screen mode. best lars

EZConfig, binding special keys

hi, im using EZConfig to bind keys, and now i got problem to bind some special keys on my thinkpad laptop, e.g. <Fn>, <VolumeUp>, <VolumeDown> etc. They are not in the list of the keys in EZConfig's document. Is there anyway to bind them? thanks. best lars

Looks like the calls to XGetWindowProperty in mcs/class/Managed.Windows.Forms/System.Windows.Forms/XplatUIX11.cs, in particular the WorkingArea getter, need some extra return value checking. What funkiness in XMonad causes this behaviour, I don't know. Apparently the problem was 'focus' and its mouse-handling. Spencer suggested that the calls to focus be replaced with 'focusWindow', which resolved it.

I find the only way to get xmonad working again is to use the cursor to switch to a different physical screen (thus, this only works if using xinerama) and then back again.
