Xterm urgency hint

Hi folks, I seem to remember that some of you xmonad users are also running arch linux, which is my newest distro of choice. Has anyone here run into the problem that xterm ignores the bellIsUrgent flag? No matter what I do, all I hear is a beep, but the urgency hint is not set for the window. Bug? Transparent/composited floating windows fail to redraw/update if resized from full screen with NoBorders

I'm not sure yet whether this bug is related to Core or Contrib (given that it involves NoBorders) or even if it's some other X related issue, so I thought I'd post it here for feedback and to see if anyone can reproduce it... I've searched high and low for other cases but haven't been able to track any down. My apologies if I've overlooked answers/reports like this elsewhere or if this isn't an appropriate venue for this message. Summary: ======== Transparent/composited floating windows fail to redraw/update if resized from full screen with NoBorders. With borders the problem doesn't manifest (e.g. if resized from tiled mode with borders already visible). Details: ======== With compositing on and multiple windows stacked in Full screen mode with XMonad.Layout.NoBorders active to remove the full screen border, resizing the visible window into a floating window results in the window no longer updating/redrawing. The window does still accept input (e.g. terminal commands can be issues if it's a terminal window, for instance). If the window is resized to floating from a normal tiled mode, it retains a border and draws/updates properly. Compositing via xcompmgr -Ethan Schoonover

Passing ModMask inputs to application

Hi, I'm using NX to connect to a remote Linux box, and both machines are running XMonad. How can I tell XMonad to pass every keyboard/mouse input to the remote desktop? In other words, I would like the remote desktop to "grab" my inputs, like the way VMWare and Remote Desktop work on Windows. Thanks, Wei

Dear xmonad list, a user of the xmonad package in Debian reports problems with xmonad/xmobar and two screens, where the wrong screen seems to be used as the primary screen. As I don’t have a dual screen setup myself, maybe you can help Albin? XMonad.Layout.Groups followup

Hi people, I know I promised to try and merge my Groups layout into X.L.Sublayout; it won't happen. I've just spent a long while without a Linux machine, and in the meantime my interest in hacking XMonad has waned considerably. So I plan on leaving X.L.Groups as a separate module. Its functionality does overlap with Sublayouts, but not completely, and from what I remember about my attempts to merge them it's not at all trivial. They also offer very different interfaces, which make different things easy to do. The patch file I've attached contains a few fixes to the Groups layout which I hadn't sent yet, a minor redesign of the interface which, as far as I'm concerned, is now frozen, and a patch to orphan all the modules I was supposed to be maintaining. With these fixes, the only outstanding problem left with X.L.Groups (as far as I'm aware) is that when deleting the focused window focus may jump back to another one at surprising places in the layout, but I don't see a obvious way of fixing and I don't want to spend too much time on this anymore, so I'm leaving it as-is. Applications cover xmobar

Hello, I'm new to xmonad and I observe a strange behaviour with the status bar. I tried to modify lowerOnStart = False but this hides the top of my application. I'm using xmonad 0.9.1-2 and xmobar 0.9.2-1 with ubuntu 10.04. Thanks for your help, Guillaume
