'sink' on dmenu

Hi, I'm using this as my manage hook: mH = ( ask >>= doF . sink ) I don't understand much about X and xmonad. I read 'sink' clears the float flag from a window. However, some windows (like the one from 'dmenu') still do not appear as other windows managed by my layout. Of course, this is the way it should be. But I would like that all (even 'dlmenu') windows be managed by the layout manager. Is there, maybe, some other flag I should clear or set? Thanks, Maurício

Due to the changes in the event hooking, ewmhDesktopsHook now causes an _|_ to be returned for every event except ClientMessageEvents(My fault, I know :)), which will clutter xmonad.errors quite quickly. Using gnome Window Selector applet

The gnome Window Selector applet lists the windows currently opened, grouped by workspace. I find it much easier to use than the dmenu solutions I've seen. However I don't want to have to handle the mouse to use it. For now I've been using xdotool to simulate a click on the applet, but I'm sure there must be some other way... Any idea? Henri

Actions on window alerts?

Is there a way in xmonad to have actions in response to a window being alerted (when it blinks in gnome-panel)? I'd like to have a desktop to toss instant messaging windows onto to disregard them until the person I'm talking to replies (which causes the window to alert if it currently doesn't have focus) at which point I'd like it to move to whatever desktop I happen to be working on so I'll notice it.

Run: runhaskell Setup.lhs --user --prefix=~ 3. Build and install What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect xmonad to install into my home folder. Instead it creates a folder called '~' in the source folder and installs there. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Ubuntu 8.10, xmonad from darcs Please provide any additional information below. I realize that this probably isn't an xmonad specific issue, but I'm not haskell savvy enough to know who to report it to instead (GHC?). I wouldn't bother reporting this if it weren't very difficult to figure out what's wrong -- configure/build/install complete without any errors, but then xmonad isn't installed. It wasn't until I tried to install contrib and it complained that StackSet was missing ("XMonad not installed in that folder would be more helpful by the way") that I eventually figured this out.
