keeping focus on window after shifting to new screen

Currently, I move my windows to the left and right screens using the following keybinding: [((m .|. modm, key), screenWorkspace sc >>= flip whenJust (windows . f)) | (key, sc) <- zip [xK_h, xK_l, xK_r] [0..] , (f, m) <- [(W.view, 0), (W.shift, shiftMask)]] But if I try to move a window from one screen to the next using mod-shift-{h,l}, it annoys me that that window loses focus. I would like it for the window to remain in focus on the new screen (i.e. the new screen should be put in focus). I really like how when you shift a window up and down the stack with shift-mod-{j,k} that the same window remains in focus at all times. Is there an easy way to maintain this behavior across screens? list of visible workspaces

How do you get a list of visible workspaces (only those workspaces that are displayed on the monitors)? Currently I get the entire list of workspaces in my xmonad config with (XMonad.workspaces conf). It looks like this command returns a list of strings, each of which denote a workspace (i.e. ["1", "2"... ] ). But not sure how to get a list of only those which are visible (I could also probably work with a list of hidden workspaces). Sorry, my Haskell is weak and I do not understand how to use the documentation here: http://xmonad.org/xmonad-docs/xmonad/XMonad-StackSet.html Thanks!

Hi. My friend Matvey Aksenov create some useful screen capturing utility for XMonad. https://github.com/supki/xmonad-screenshot It allows capturing all workspaces in single image. Also chosen workspaces could be filtered by some predicate. Result image could be filled with horizontal or vertical layout. Are there some other possible use cases for that utility? What are you expecting from the ideal screenshot module for XMonad? By the way, is there some another available screenshot utility specially for XMonad? -- Best regards, dmitry malikov !

Space between terminal

Since some time (sadly I'm not sure when), I've started to see a little space (like 5 to 10 pixels) between the vim window and the terminal window[1]. I don't know where to start looking, can somebody point me where to start looking? [noob question] I lost the sound when using xmonad

Dear list, I installed xmonad on my laptop, and everything works great. The only problem is that now I lost the sound that I had with gnome. I am an xmonad and haskell noob, so I don't know where to start to fix this issue. Does someone have a clue? Many thanks, Sam

Use ewmh config 2. Use gnome-terminal 3. Attempt to go full screen What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Gnome-terminal doesn't enable the full screen command unless the window manager advertises such support. The setSupported function in XMonad.Hooks.EwmhDesktops should be extended to support this. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.10-3 on Ubuntu 12.04 Are you using an xmonad.hs? Please attach it and the output of "xmonad --recompile". This can be reproduced with the standard `xmonad gnomeConfig`. Please provide any additional information below.
