All windows in row?

(Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I have already tried google and found nothing useful.) What is the best and simplest layout manager that will allow me to put all windows in a single row, and possibly resize each of them? Sometimes I'd like to have three windows tiled horizontally, and I guess xmonad is perfect for that. I found ZoomRow, and it looks exactly like what I need, but when I add it to xmonad.hs, I get an error message: "Could not find module `XMonad.Layout.ZoomRow'". And then, how can I install it? It states that at the current time the format can't be replicated with defaultLogWithPP, but now there is the ppSort which can be used. I made a patch against the latest darcs which updates the docs. Make floating windows respect docks

Hi, Is it possible to have new floating windows placed in a way that does not cover docks (avoidStruts ?)? Maybe even neither a dock nor another floating window? best, -- Philipp Haselwarter

Open three windows 2. Make one window floating, resize it into something manageable down in a corner 3. Switch layout to Full 4. Mouse over the floating window -- the underlying visible Full window will switch to the other one 5. If this does not occur, switch which underlying window is visible (e.g. ModMask+Tab), try again -- it should now occur. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Giving focus to a floating window should not change which Full window is visible underneath. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? xmonad and xmonad-contrib 0.9.2, cabal install, on Ubuntu Linux 10.04. Also observed on Ubuntu Linux 11.04, unknown xmonad version (latest cabal install, most likely). darcs patch: ungrab-keyboard-before-action

In X.A.Submap, the keyboard is grabbed to handle the submapping. However, the keyboard is not released until *after* the action is executed. This creates the situation where any action which requires a keyboard grab (such as submap itself), cannot be submapped. I encountered this issue with WindowBringer where dmenu would fail to appear since it failed to grab the keyboard. A delay could be used, but this is just a race.
