WinHugs Installer, slightly better GUI layout

Hi, Please remove winhugs/installer/installer.aps from the CVS, it appears to be a binary file which is purely a visual studio cache - if deleted visual studio recreates it. I should have not sent it to be checked in. The attached patch fixes 3 minor human user interface issues in the installer. It lays the checkboxes out slightly better, renames "..." to "Browse" and changes the text. No code changes. I talked to an HCI person. Thanks Neil

The Report (21.6) says: For most implementations, physical files will normally be block-buffered and terminals will normally be line-buffered. Of course making hSetBuffering and hSetEcho work for WinHugs would be extra work.

WinHugs, fix module manager add button

Hi, This fixes the module manager add button. Before it didn't work, now it does. It also abstracts out the showing of an open dialog box between the two places, and deletes the legacy code that made it all break. Thanks Neil

WinHugs, new installer

Hi, Attached is a new installer for WinHugs. Its custom written, and has been used successfully on Pingus for years [http://pingus.seul.org/] This version has some modifications. I have placed 2 screenshots at the bottom of http://www-users.cs.york.ac.uk/~ndm/projects/winhugs.php The code is at http://www-users.cs.york.ac.uk/~ndm/temp/installer.zip Advantages: 100% open source 100% customisable Registers Open and Edit via winhugs, along with a new document handler for windows. This removes the need for WinHugs/register Cat'able package creation (see how to create) 29Kb overhead vs just distributing a zip Can be opened by winzip, if people want Looks pretty Disadvantages: No cancel once you start installing, I don't think this is such a big deal, but it can be remedied with effort No uninstall, I will fix this before release, but again its not a massive problem since a winhugs install is pretty non-invasive Creating a package: Get a directory, as you want it installing Zip it up copy /b installer.exe + installer.zip winhugs.exe distribute winhugs.exe If you just unzip the linked file into /src/winhugs/installer it will all work perfectly. Once this is in, I'll put together a winhugs snapshot for people to beta test. I am now using WinHugs as my primary haskell development environment, and so are at least 3 others. Its solid and very useable. The code is C++. I would appreciate it if the formatting was not changed (i.e. tabs and spaces, bracketing placement) as then it will be easier to sync it with Pingus, since the code is already in their .svn. The behaviour of winhugs on: winhugs.exe /edit filename.hs is to fire up whichever editor is configured with winhugs and exit winhugs. The massive advantage of this is a user can set winhugs /edit as their file handler for editing haskell files, and as they change the option in winhugs, it gets changed in their system.
