Now, the 'with' keyword isn't doing anyone any harm where it is apart from adding a bit of complexity to the parser, and I'm not really bothered by that, so I really don't mind leaving it in if you're still using it. Hugs release plans

We don't have anyone to package Hugs for windows at the moment, but several useful changes and fixes have accumulated and deserve wider usage, so I propose to do a source-only release next week. There's still time to keep the "with" keyword (but I think it has no future, having been deprecated for some time and now taken by an identifier in a standard module).

garbage collector

Someone here was building Hugs on powerpc-apple-darwin6.6, and getting INTERNAL ERROR: importEntity. The import entity in question had been garbage collected. Recompiling module.c without optimization avoids the problem, so my guess is that the optimizer's use of registers is confusing the garbage collector. I'm starting to think that marking the C stack isn't working very well, and wondering if this is why optimization is turned off for some of the other files.

Hugs is essentially ready to go on Linux/Unix, but we need someone to build a Windows version (Sigbjorn is snowed under at the moment). It may need some tweaking to suit recent changes.
